About CostAlmanac

CostAlmanac US turns free public U.S. government data into fast, interactive calculators for the money and place questions people actually search: cost of living, take-home pay, income tax, mortgage and loan payments.

Why we exist

The real numbers live in dense government tables. We make them usable: a cited number, a working calculator, and a plain-English answer — updated and sourced, not a text dump. Every number on this site cites a public U.S. government source with a date (see our methodology and sources). Most cost-of-living tools do not publish where their numbers come from.

Every number cites a source and date. Finance and tax pages carry disclaimers and are reviewed for methodology. The site is free to use and funded by advertising and affiliate partnerships (see our disclosure).
